TBB spent the evening at an increadible #networkingevent at the London Houses of Parliment. It was hosted by @charteredinstituteofbuilding and member of Parliment @emily.thornberry. Two of our North American delegates were able to share their experience and impression of the UK #constructionindustry as it relates to #womenonthetools. Special thanks to our partner @uniwestminster for the connections that made this possible. Our delegates made sure to bring their #hardhats for our community day in Caledonian Park on June 12. This was a chance for community members to meet our delegates and for local politicians, advocates, and #tradeswomen to share the importance of #womeninconstructiontrades and the opportunities at the Holloway prison project presents for the community of #islingtonToday we had the immense honor of being the final members of the public to go inside the Holloway Womens Prison. We take seriously the responsibility of honoring the legacy of human rights abuses, and political agitation that occurred here. We hope that we can come back to #islington in the future and visit a #womensbuilding on this site. We’re live-streaming our best practices presentation right now! Live from @uniwestminster . Tune in to learn about four amazing organizations that have increased the participation of women in construction to 10%. You can find the link on our fb or linkedin. We are also recording so you can watch later. We’re in the home stretch! 29 days until our delegation to London! Tradeswomen from all over North America have been putting in work planning how and what they’re going to lead while we’re there. We can’t wait to connect with this amazing group of tradeswoman leaders and continue our work of elevating women in the trades. Our new #swag arrived! In addition to these awesome staff vests, we got some surprises for the delegates when they arrive in London!
